This Bumbu XO rum was produced in a distillery in Panama founded over a century ago. It is the latest addition to the Bumbu range of rums, the name of which refers to the exquisite blends of rum and local herbs and spices prepared by sailors travelling through the Caribbean in the 16th and 17th centuries, which they called "Bumbu". After distillation in a still, special care was taken to mature this rum: after 18 years in American Bourbon casks, this cuvée was finished in ex-Xérès white oak casks from Andalusia.
