Back in the 1970’s, the BenRiach Distillery made the bold move of returning to distilling peated malt, at a time when most Speyside distillers had moved their focus towards unpeated malt distillation. This experiment with a peated variation of our classic quarter cask expression was awarded the best Speyside single malt in their non-age statement category during the 2018 World Whisky Awards.
